Design Process

Design Process

iTeam has developed a process that ensures you receive the exact product you are looking for.To start, your company needs to appoint a leader for the project. This is one person who has the ability to make final decisions in a timely manner. This person is responsible for overseeing the development of the entire project.iTeam encourages active participation by all senior staff members, but by having one leader this reduces the confusion of many voices expressing their ideas all at once.

The leader of the project will be in contact with a Project Manager, as well as several other members of iTeam including a Consultant, Designer, Programmer and Support Staff.Contact varies during the specific sections of the design process.

Initial Meeting

During the initial meeting members of iTeam will review your current system, interactive designs and data requirements. As well, there will be an evaluation of the specific aspects that are unique to your project. This evaluation includes your desires for how information will be displayed and what areas you want to improve.

Research

Once the initial meeting has concluded and iTeam is given the go ahead to start with the project, developers will start to research solutions that may already be on the market to determine fair budgets and eliminate reinvention of the wheel. This research will outline strengths and weakness of technology that is being used by other companies that can potentially improve your own business model. This also helps iTeam develop an understanding of your industry and provides further insights into how the project will evolve.

Conception

Once the research has been completed, iTeam will begin to develop concepts for the direction of your project.Conception needs to be weighed against your business model and operations to ensure the system is seamless and information is well organized.

Design

Once a clear concept of how the project has been completed, an iTeam designer will begin to design the project’s functionality and implementation of flowcharts and interface concepts. The designer will create all the necessary interfaces and complete this phase with a fully functioning system.

Refinement

A well defined system runs smoothly and feels natural to operators. At the end of the refinement process, you will have a static version of your system allowing you to test various features to ensure everything operates the way you had envisioned when it was conceived.During refinement you will be asked to review the features at each stage to ensure satisfaction.

Launch

Once the refinement stage has been completed and your needs have been firmly established, implementation can now be finalized.Users can be trained and technical support begins.

The process is meant to be a collaborative effort between developers and clients that produce effective results, supporting common interests and preferences. Some projects may require tiers or milestones in which case the development process could occur for various sections of a project. The length of the design process depends on the scope of the project.

Keep in mind that the purpose of each step listed here is to give you an idea of the design process. The involvement with each step varies depending on the individual project.
